Good News for Sales Tax Holiday Weekend. The Tennessee Department of Revenue has posted information on its website for consumers and retailers about a special sales tax holiday. The dates are August 5 through August 7. During the holiday, the sale of clothing and footwear costing $100 or less per item; school supplies costing $100 or less per item; and computers costing $1,500 or less per item are exempt from sales tax.
